Our expectations & requirements
Business licensure and registration
The Bounyful Green Market board expects all vendors to hold all relevant licenses and documents to sell what they have to offer. If you are selling food, it is expected that you meet all applicable state and local laws regarding the items you sell. If you need help finding out what considerations you should make, reach out to us and we can put you in contact with a local nonprofit such as the Algiers Economic Development Foundation (AEDF) that can get you on the path to legal business status. It’s only part of what they do, and one of our passions as a market team.
Insurance
While not required for all ventures, it is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED that you carry business insurance and liability insurance in the event something unexpected occurs with your products. The market team has a policy to hold itself harmless for quality of the products sold by our vendors, so it’s up to you to ensure you’re meeting the highest standards and covering yourself in the event of a problem. This rarely comes up, but it’s best practice to have an insurance policy for your business.
Day-of-market preparation
The day of the market, you are allowed to park in the market area ONLY TO UNLOAD/LOAD. Once unloaded or loaded, exit the market area so that others have room to set up or break down. Again, it can’t be overstated that you cannot park in the market area while setting up and taking down your equipment and inventory. In our location at 530 Powder St, there simply isn’t enough room for everyone to do this all at once, so, it goes a long way for us to stay on top of this. In addition, you can’t drive into the market space after the market has begun. Doing so would be adverse to your membership with the market. Arrive early to unload, and be patient when loading to leave.
community and professionalism
While there are lots of expectations our vendors are expected to meet, the most important expectation that we have is that you enjoy your experience with us, our community, and each other. It’s our hope that you treat others with respect and professional decorum, and to voice any issues you have in a tactful and civil way. We want this to be a welcoming space for people of all types to enjoy the many facets of Algiers Point, the Jewel of the Westbank. With this in mind, we hope you would like to be a part of our family, and we look forward to many years of constructive growth and development for the Algiers community and beyond!
